The tools you gain during athletics are as important in high school as any classroom curriculum.  So to show my support, each spring I choose one high school athlete of whom I create a figure and send it to them without them knowing. 
This may be any sport I choose and there is no requirement by the athlete in order to receive this gesture (other than playing for a school in Michigan).
I pick whatever intrigues me the most to make at that time.  So it may be someone I saw in a State Final, at a regular season game,  read about or even someone who is suggested as a good choice by someone else.
This is not an award for the greatest athlete, its a chance to give one person a year something special to remind them of what will probably be one of their best memories of youth, educational athletics.
